One of the reasons why I love Punch isn’t simply because of its quaint, lower profile sister, Ronin, but because of the vibes that the cafe exudes. This is a place I would love to while my day away whilst working on my laptop or my books. Extra brownie points for great coffee and food too.
Smooth yet robust with a nutty undertone, this Mocha packs a punch. I can always count on my coffee to be this good, whether it is at Punch or at Ronin.
Earl Grey Pancakes ($15)
You got me at Earl Grey. Infuse it inside the pancake batter and you are good to go. Anything Earl Grey has never failed to catch my attention and this dish is no exception. The pancakes were sufficiently thick and fluffy, permeated with the fragrance of earl grey. The half poached pear glazed with chocolate added a sweeter dimension to the dish, and I feel that the inclusion of the pear gives the dish more texture. If I were to nitpick, the earl grey fragrance could be stronger (but I emphasise on the word ‘nitpick’). I am sold.
